How does the tariff comparison system work?

The system will initially invite you to provide some basic information on how you use the service, such as, in the case of mobile telephony to take another example, approximate duration of your calls, approximate number of monthly SMS sent, the time of the day you mostly use your phone and so on.

Which tariff plan should I choose?

Before using the site, we recommend you take a look at our consumer guides, which are available for download from the MCA Website under the Consumer Section. These guides will help you identify what elements or characteristics of a service are important to you and thus assist you in selecting the right tariff plan and service provider.

The results generated by this website are purely indicative and serve to narrow down the choice from the wide selection of tariff plans available on the market.

We strongly recommend that you discuss your options with the service provider directly before subscribing to any service.

Why am I not able to see my current tariff plan subscription?

In the event that your tariff plan is no longer available, then this will not feature in this tool.

Is VAT included in the results provided?

All indicated prices include VAT but exclude excise tax. (Vat and Excise tax are currently at 18 % and 3% respectively).

What does 'Average monthly cost' mean?

The average monthly cost is the average monthly cost of operating the tariff. This means that any one-off charges or discounts such as installation or activation fees and promotional discounts are taken into account. These one-off charges/discounts are applied to the annual cost of the tariff and the result is then averaged over 12 months. This figure gives a more realistic figure for the operating cost of a tariff.

What does 'Monthly cost' mean?

The monthly cost is simply the monthly fee charged by the tariff operator for subscribing to the tariff.
